Background

Learning 2.0 -- Here's a link to the program Helene Blowers did for the Charlotte NC Public (she now is director of digital strategy in Columbus OH), including 23 Things. It's been released under a Creative Commons license and sharing is encouraged. Subsequent implementations by other libraries are well documented elsewhere.

Draft Invitation

This is a great invitation to 23 things. I'll submit to Lis on Tuesday after another email invitation for everyone to take a look. I agree about making a few changes in which tools we introduce.

The Librarians Web 2.0 Tools PLC is excited to offer a 23Things program (based on a program developed by Helene Blowers for the Charlotte (NC) Public Library). We know that sometimes learning new technologies is intimidating and time-consuming, so we will roll out ONE tool per week. Our goal is to present you with tools you can use with your students, your faculty, or for your own professional development. If you are interested in participating in this intiative in a supportive (online) group, please click the YES! SIGN ME UP! button on this e-mail (or contact Ellen McNair or Gretchen Hazlin and we will add you to the mailing list). We promise: No more than ONE e-mail per week. We are excited to learn with you!
